Aleigh Papagno holds the Master of Music degree from Ohio University where she studied applied piano and piano pedagogy with Dr. Christopher Fisher. In addition to her master's degree, Aleigh also holds a certificate in music theory pedagogy and a Bachelor of Music degree, summa cum laude, in keyboard performance. Her applied piano, piano pedagogy, and theory pedagogy teachers include Deanna Moore, Kenon Renfrow, Jennifer Smith, and Lorri Turcios. She is presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy from Louisiana State University.
Aleigh’s passion for teaching was sparked in high school when she began working as a teacher’s assistant for the Capitano Music Studio in her hometown Ocala, Florida. There, she had the privilege of teaching a variety of beginning students between the ages of four and sixteen. During her undergraduate studies, Aleigh served as a pedagogy intern with Piano Central Studios in Greenville, South Carolina where she taught in both private and group settings. As a master's student, Aleigh worked as a private piano instructor for the Athens Community Music School and as a Graduate Assistant in the Ohio University School of Music where she taught group piano classes for college music majors. She currently holds a graduate assistantship at Louisiana State University where she teaches class piano courses.
Aleigh has performed as a solo recitalist and collaborator, playing with chamber groups, vocalists, and choirs. In 2023, Aleigh and her piano duo partner Brienna Weigner were named first prize winners in the adult duo division of the Graves/CEOMTA Piano Competition. As a master's student, Aleigh enjoyed serving as collaborative pianist for vocal and instrumental students in the Ohio University School of Music and as principal accompanist for the Athens Youth Chorus.
