Book Fee. A $35 book fee will be charged at the start of the first semester of enrollment for new students. For returning students, this $35 fee will be charged at the beginning of the fall semester. Travel Fee. A monthly travel fee will be charged that is due at the first lesson of the month along with tuition. This fee is calculated based on mileage from the teacher’s residency to the student’s residency and will vary from student to student. The teacher will communicate this fee prior to the first lesson.
Lesson Termination. Students who wish to withdraw from lessons must provide a thirty-day notice. If a thirty-day notice is given, the student will be refunded for the remaining lessons. Students who do not provide a thirty-day notice will receive a refund for lessons thirty-days after their withdrawal date.

Types of Payment. Payments can be made with cash, check, or Venmo. Please make all checks out to Aleigh Papagno.

Scheduling & Make-Up Lessons
Scheduling. Lessons will be scheduled prior to the start of each semester. The teacher will ask each student to provide three preferred times from which the teacher will select one. Once a time has been selected, it cannot be changed by the student or the teacher until the following semester.
Make-Up Lessons. The teacher will provide students with a maximum of two make-up lessons per semester. The student is responsible for informing the teacher of any missed lessons as soon as possible. Any lesson cancelled with less than twenty-four hours’ notice will not be made up unless cancelled due to sudden illness. Missed lessons that are not made up are non-refundable. The teacher reserves the right to conduct make-up lessons online.
Expectations
Students. Students are expected to thoroughly prepare for each lesson by completing all items on their homework assignment. A practice log that records practice goals, practice achievements, and practice time should be kept so the student can track his/her progress. Students are encouraged, but not required, to participate in recitals, festivals, and competitions.
Parents. Parents should have an active role in their child’s musical education. It is strongly recommended that parents of students under the age of ten attend the lesson so they can keep track of what was covered and how their child should be practice at home during the week. Parents should help their child establish a regular practice routine at home. If questions arise from either the parent or student during the week, they should contact the teacher.
Teacher. The teacher will sufficiently prepare for each lesson and structure lessons around the student’s interests and goals. Lessons will include a variety of activities and concepts (i.e., music theory, technique, sight-reading, etc.) that will foster competent musicianship within the student. The teacher will help the student develop effective practice habits and problem-solving skills to encourage the student’s autonomy.
Instrument. Students must have an instrument at home for lessons and practice to occur. While an acoustic instrument is strongly recommended, a keyboard with eighty-eight, fully weighted keys, and at least two pedals will suffice. Students with an acoustic instrument should have it tuned regularly and report any issues to a registered piano technician immediately.
